Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail are a calm, hardy, meaty breed, ideal for backyard setting in the city and in the country. The roosters trill, making a sound very like a wild songbird. As adults, they may be housed in family groups in standard rabbit hutches very comfortably. Coturnix hens are widely known for their productive laying capability. Most hens will lay an egg per day from about 6 weeks of age on up to over a year old.|
Our exceptional Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail weigh up to and over 15 ounces. They mature to laying age in 6 *weeks* and are at butcher size in the same time frame. Our birds are fed the BEST feed available, a 28% protein Game Bird feed with a small amount of crimped oats and black oil sunflower seeds. They always have fresh water available and are never given any growth hormones or chemicals.
Their delectable eggs defy description for eating. Coturnix Quail lay very large, beautifully speckled eggs. We also offer chicks, hatching eggs, and will raise butcher birds to order.
