In 2008, after almost 20 years of raising, training and showing national level miniature horses and classic ponies, we found a new, unexpected passion for poultry. We never dreamed where it would take us!
After experimenting with a few different breeds, learning their personalities and individual needs, we began to see that rare breed and heritage poultry was something that would not only be a fun family pursuit, but would also be a great home based family business.
From that humble beginning, Flying A Farm Rare Breed Poultry was born. We now offer many different and very individual rare breeds. These are the breeds that grabbed our attention and wouldn't let go. We are always on the lookout for a fascinating new breed to add to our family.
We started with chickens and have now branched out into turkeys, quail and ducks. Again, these are breeds that caught our fancy for their beauty and temperament, as well as being multi-purpose breeds that are beneficial for the breeder, collector, exhibitor and family farm.
All of our pure bred birds are housed in individual breeding groups, suitable to their needs and comfort. We adhere strictly to each breed's Standard Of Perfection and are doing our best to preserve, protect and improve each breed.
We are proud members of the American Poultry Association, Marans of America Club and the Heart Of The Ozarks Poultry Association.

Shipping is available within the continental United States only, in accordance with US import and export regulations. We will ship ONLY to addresses within the United States.
Our farm is certified by the National Poultry Improvement Plan as Pullorum-Typhoid (Salmonella) clean. Arkansas NPIP #71-0607. Laura is also a certified Private Testing Agent for the State of Arkansas, licence number P904.
